GDT 4-26: Eli White Redemption Day

Just IL Lopez to make sure he's healthy. Call up Strider soon, keep Ritchie in the rotation, DFA Suarez and either add Fuentes for long relief or dip from AAA.
 
Somehow I feel I've become Jose Suarez's biggest fan or at least his only defender...

With at least 5 appearances this season, Saurez is 4th on team in FIP (2.63) and 6th on the team in xFIP (3.84). His babip is insane (.455). As a back of the pen guy, he's pretty solid
 
Second game vs Detroit is Skubal so unless we are throwing the Ace or Sale we may as well run out Perez. Ritchie/Holmes/Elder pitching in that order would be regular rest. Sounds good to me but I wonder if they might bring up Strider to start game 1 or 2. Maybe use Holmes in relief until Iglesias gets back.
 
Supposedly it's because we need SP, but we need to stop thinking on terms of starter or reliever and just how many innings a guy can pitch and be very good. Some guys can be great for 100 innings but they have to be a 1 inning reliever or a starter.
 
I’m thinking AA will be deadline shopping for a LHP for the BP and an impact SP controlled beyond this season. With the profar situation he should have more cash to spend than almost every other team.
