GDT 4-26: Eli White Redemption Day

Braves are the first team to 20 wins. Phillies and Mets are the only teams without atleast 10 wins.

The Rockies aren't quite as horrible as they once were, but they're definitely not good.

Still, the Mets are legitimately a terrible team right now. Every indicator is bad. Hell, they're averaging like 3.5 runs a game...

It’s shaping up to be a fun year to watch the Braves. 20 wins and still have 40 games to go against a weak NL east.
The Phillies and Mets look bad. It may take both teams several years to rebuild enough to challenge for a division title
This is all without Schwelly, Strider, Murph and Kim. And Ritchie looked fantastic in his first start.

Who does Manager cheff bring in instead? The options aren't good considering Kinley and Lee pitched last night.

I would have used Suarez in the tie game last night. You know, use the best BP arm in a high leverage scenario. Standard leverage considerations.

Or is that too complicated for you to understand without me spelling it out?

Bobby threw 17 on Sunday week ago.
Off Monday and Tuesday
8 pitches on wed
Off Thursday
17 on Friday.

He was fine to throw in the tie game. Bad call by WW.

But not that upset. Was nice to toss a struggling team a bone.

I was hoping he didn’t put him in.

That mound was deteriorating rapidly, and with our luck he would have slipped and ripped his back out or- worse. Long season ahead, and we are already down to one closer. We had Sale going against dead Nola today and should win that to take the series and ultimately gain ground. He made the right move I tend to think. It was a punt for sure, but that’s the point of a punt- live to fight another day.
WW knows more than me- as do all of y’all- but I think keeping Robért on the bench in that rain was 100% the correct play. I can’t imagine the bitching in here had he used him and an injury occurred….

I would have used the good Suarez in game 2 too, but we cant change that. But with the options we had who do you go with to close out a 4 run lead in the 9th? There's only I would trust here and 2 pitched the previous night.

Considering our closer is out, it was raining, and his workload last week, I was fine with giving Saurez the night off.
I mean, I’m not on either side of this really I don’t care one way or the other. But I posted his usage last week and if you wanna add last Saturday, he threw 14 pitches so he hadn’t been overworked at all.
