GDT: 4/27 Braves vs Marlins: Get Away Day

Harris back. Love to see it.

Solak and White both optioned back to Gwinnett to make room for him.

Iglesias started his rehab yesterday going 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1K....Shouldn't be too many more outings before he is back up. They probably want him to pitch a few innings, and then go back to back before he's ready.

Looks like 2 blown saves according to his stats on MLB.com.

The strange thing is he has a decent K/BB rate striking out 15 compared to 3 walks on the season in 12.2 IP. But he has given up 15 hits, opponents have a .294 avg against him, a 1.42 WHIP, and his ground out to flyout rate is 0.83 so opponents are getting the ball in the air....

Not sure what is up with him this season.

I have this vague recollection in the back of my brain of reading somewhere that Josh Tomlon was kept around for an extra year to keep Minters head on straight. Both from Tyler Tx area and supposedly worked out together during off season.

I can’t find a single number, trend, or indicator that has me actually worried about AJ Minter. Houston and Miami combined for a .700 BABIP against him this week. Velocity, spin, strikeouts, all the peripherals, all look great. Batted ball luck was just ****.

He was definitely off a bit but it was mainly bad luck

Can't wait to see which arms AA adds to the pen.

And also can't wait to see how Snit headscratchingly uses all the good staff AA assembles.

Yeah, Ivan the Great was talking about that on the Battery Power site.

EV's were bad for Minter yesterday. Single to Chisholm was 106.6 with a .680 xBA, single to Gurriel was 101.1 and had a .500 xBA, single to Garcia was 99.4 with an .870 xBA, double to Segura was 96.7 with an .830 xBA, and the single to Arraez was 90.4 with a .610 xBA.

This wasn't bad BABIP luck, Minter was making mistakes in the zone and they were getting hammered.

Another interesting item, the three highest xBA balls hit yesterday were all against Minter. All three were offspeed. Dude was making location mistakes in the zone with offspeed pitches. That's a recipe for disaster.
