GDT 4/27: THE NIGHT FOLTY RE- SPAWNED...

And everyone knows how many innings he's pitched and the money he's owed, so obviously the giants will be eating some salary

He's owed almost 16 mil this season and almost 16 mil next season, they would have to eat almost 20 mil to make it worth trading for him, and I can't imagine what kind of prospect cost that would amount to. Just can't see it happening.

Signing kimbrel after the draft and making trades for guys like Watson and Smith from the Giants seem like much more realistic options.

Glad I didn’t see the ninth inning. Feels like a miracle if we win a game these days.

Duvall for Givens or Watson makes sense. Will Smith should be available for less given he will be a FA.

Seems there’s a deal to be made with SF centered around Duvall and their BP arms.

Is this just something you're theorizing. The way it's worded it could be interpreted as something in motion that's rumored or just you saying it because it makes some sense?

Leaving Folty in to start the 7th or at the very least not pulling him after the triple is on Snit and it changed the tenor of the whole game. Luke Ray should have been brought in and we most likely give up one run in the 7th and none in the 8th and then turn over a two run lead to Minter in the 9th. Minter misses his spot and the guy leads off the ninth with a double and then who gives a crap? Let them score and you still have the lead and Minter doesn't have to be as fine working with his pitches the rest of the 9th. There is a huge difference in saving a one run game and saving a game with a two run lead or more.

So we've lost 8 in a row to the Rockies at SunTrust Park, 5 in a row at home, 3 in a row overall and had the lead in 11 of 14 losses this season. Did I miss anything?

DOB said the same thing in answer to a tweet about Duval for a reliever.

Agreed, this surge of his should definitely help restore at least some of the trade value that was shot after last season.
