GDT 4/28/26: Braves vs Tigers - Harris Back In CF

We have had terrible injury luck the last two seasons. But, AA was hot ass last year. He took a chance on resetting the luxury tax in the middle of a contention window, hoping we’d be competitive enough while our stars healed, and it blew up in his face. I think it’s fair to criticize him for 2025, even if he couldn’t have prevented all of it.
Cutting Laureano just to end up signing Profar was just an incredibly awful decision, even ignoring the suspensions.

Think Profar was much more dynamic but it definitely looks terrible right now.
Incorrect. Profar had 1 good season offensively at age 31. Laureano was younger, cheaper, and had a better track record of hitting.

AA probably had a different plan that fell through and then he panic bought Profar. It was still an incredibly poor decision. Never double down on a bad move.

Its closer than I thought - Fair point

For all the crap Ozzie gets..I saw this :
Ozzie Albies ranks among 2B in Braves Franchise History:

HR- 1st (Ozzie has 163 with Dan Uggla being 2nd at 79 lol)

RBI- 2nd
Hits- 2nd
2B- 1st
3B- 3rd
R- 2nd
SB- 2nd
OPS+- 6th (min. 100 games)

Whether he goes or not..best 2nd baseman for the Braves all time. IMHO.

Did it though? The team reset the luxury tax in a year where our entire rotation was on the IL at one point. And now the team looks as good as ever.

He will end up 1st in fWAR among all Braves 2B after this year and will be 1st in games played (in the modern era) at some point next season. Indeed the best Braves 2B ever and future Braves HOFer

last night game was a case of living right.. i haven't looked but there had to be 15+ 3 ball counts.... that is a recipe for disaster

I also wonder how different things look if twit retired after 21.. just impossible to know

Mine is the 21st. We'll be at the Doubletree, also paying way too much for the convenience of a block and a half walk.
i have that one for when i just want the game experience... price be damned, not dealing with parking/ubers and enjoying the battery all hours is awesome!!

if you have a couple grand laying around the balcony view was incredible.. we didn't get tickets for any game and watched two from the balcony..my view of the right field corner was blocked..but had game on tv while enjoying the sounds and experience of the crowds.. will do again for sure fri night fireworks felt like they were right over our head

It did for last year. Not typically a fan of punting contention window years because you never know when it’s going to close.

That’s Perez tho… dude is always lucky but has somehow had a long solid MLB career. Somehow he always seems to outpitch the data. Sorry… I mean All-Star Perez

We weren't exactly big spenders this off-season. We brought in maybe 30 million in new money. It certainly seems like we could have found a way to make the team more competitive the previous off-season while still resetting the tax.

I don’t know that last season could have been salvaged even with all the right moves, but this year looks a lot better, at least partly because they didn’t keep trying to be competitive during the lost cause that was last year.

It was painful, but we’re clearly better off this season because it happened.

The Sheraton Suites Galleria across the highway is super reasonable and a nice place to stay if you don’t feel like dropping $600+ on hotels within the battery. We’ve walked to the park from there even with little kids, maybe a 20 min walk.
