GDT 4/29 - WAS @ ATL: Post-apocalypse

For my minors gurus...

What's the likelihood we see Mallex Smith w/ the big league club this season? Dude has literally hit and stole every where he's been.

I like him and his potential to be a starter in CF, he should be ready for 2016.

There are many unanswered Mukaki Rebuild questions, but I think Fredi has answered one rather well in less than a month.

I'd say fairly slim unless he absolutely rakes. Cunningham is playing well in AAA and while his ceiling isn't that high, I wouldn't be surprised to see him replace Gosselin on the roster at some point just to see what he can offer and if he figures into the future at all. Toscano is another guy we may see at some point. Smith isn't on the 40-man roster and doesn't have to go on it until after the season, so my guess is they will wait on him.

The body language on this team after we gave up the lead to a pitcher is totally different when we were hitting. It is like they have accepted the lost already and going through the motions.

The thing Fredi really likes about Cornely is his ability to not pitch at all.

Cornely's first baseball card as a Brave.

Yea, I like Smith as much as anyone here seems to but I think the target is 2016 for him rather than this season. Perez should get a look this season though.

That said, Dustin Peterson who's the other Peterson from the Justin Upton trade is having a big night for Carolina in high-A tonight. He is 4-4 with a double, homer (3), and two RBI's. That's good to see from him.
