Maybe you're an exception. I've always been told, and a quick Google search confirms, that English is difficult to learn because it doesn't make a lot of sense. It's grammatical rules are often violated, there are lots of irregular verbs, and the structure of sentences are often based on nothing more than "sounding right."

Thats how deep this team is/bullpen is. And we dont have Iggy yet, and didnt even have to use Anderson or McHugh. Basically all our BP arms are somewhat quality but Jimenez might be stolen goods. Thats one trade i just do not understand at all but whatever.

Interesting...I guess it depends where you're coming from. Being from Germany, it is pretty much universally accepted that English is far easier to learn than other common languages like French, Italian, Spanish. German itself is really complex. We have like 6 different use cases for a simple word like "the". It must be a pain in the rear to learn that.

What makes English easy is that there aren't many rules. Yes, there are some irregular verbs you have to learn, but even then, there are at most 2 variations. As an example, take "sing / sang / sung". Yes, it's irregular, but those variations cover all modes. Whether it's "I sang" or "They sang".
Personally, I can only compare to learning French, which was far more difficult because there are many more variations.

I agree. I was a bit misguided when I was a bit worried about the pen in Spring.

But what amazes me is Twit actually doing something that I like. He literally said, I am giving my bottom BP guys in my pen work today. And he didn't fold when the game was on the line. I really respect that.

I have no doubt a person's native language plays a huge part in ease of learning a new language. English is likely much easier for German speakers to learn and vice versa as they're both Germanic languages. Unlike Romance languages, English and German share a common parent language.

Add to it that English (at least the form spoken in America) has an extremely large and varied vocabulary. Part of that is a result of the amalgamation of words brought to the continent due to immigration. As you say, we also have a somewhat irregular sentence structure.

Well English shares many common roots with Germanic languages, so I’m sure in your case that’s probably true

Haha, that is great! Reminds me of this one we learned in school. Add punctuation to make it a correct sentence:

„Katie while Chris had had had had had had had had had had had a better effect on the teacher“
