GDT 4/4/25: Braves vs Marlins - The Turn Around Begins

Hula just showed the metrics on his heater and I’m not sure why folks would think it’s below average. It’s like 2 mph harder than average and the scatter plot of the movement profile sits right on top of the average shadow.

Average velocity paired with average movement is an above average pitch because it’s rare to be good at both things. Plus velocity paired with average movement is a plus pitch, especially with his plus execution of it.

Schwelly is a TOR guy who folks will argue over the semantics of “Ace”.

His movement is below avg. but his improved velocity helps it. I would say it is still slightly below average. But he throws 6 pitches that you can’t eliminate. He is peak Soroka good. And I agree a TOR with his command and composure.

I have been a huge schwelly fan since he came up.

MLB Network thinks the Braves aren’t going to make the playoffs and that the Phillies are going to run away with the East. Greg Amsinger literally said that we were a terrible team yesterday.

I’d like to give them a nice shit burger to eat.

In fairness. We only just beat the mAAArlins.

We also looked only slightly better than them for like 95% of the game. Let's build up some momentum first.

Ronnie is the wild card. I don't expect his 2023 MVP caliber season the rest of the way out. He was pretty aight when he came back from first ACL year. He's the tablesetter. So let's hope he can mash even 80% of how he did in 2023.
