GDT#4, 4/4/'14: Braves (Hale) @ Nationals (Zimmerman) 1:05 PM

Quote from Nats board.

"Watching Craig Kimbrel pitch against ordinary human beings is so humbling."

We better start scoring some freakin runs and blowing teams out otherwise Kimbrel and Carpenter will be toast the middle of May with Fredi's bullpen management

In other news, Delgado got hammered by the Rockies today.

Arizona IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA
Delgado, R(L, 0-1) 4.0 10 6 6 2 3 1 11.57

Was the game in Colorado? If so I wouldn't make much of such a line score. That is a tough ballpark to pitch.

What pitch is that grip for?

Fun with Kimbrel stats this year.

3 IP, 6Ks, no baserunners allowed.

He's rocking a -0.88 FIP right now.

I know it's the tiniest of samples but it's so freaking amazing even in a small sample. Kimbrel is a god amongst mortals.

Normally, I would agree; however, this is a continuation of the stats he was putting up in spring training, as well as August and September of last year. In this case, I think it is less that it was in Colorado and more that it is Delgado has to work on some more things before he can start to live up to his potential.

They said on the radio broadcast that no Braves team had done that in the first 4 games of the season.

They had a stat that they showed during the game about it. That 4 times the Braves had given up just 4 runs over the course of the first 4 games of the season. Something along those lines. I'll have to go back and watch the game again and see exactly what the stat was that they posted.
