GDT 4/4 -Zombie Expos 12:10 start

Is tucker really in the same category defensively as Kemp?

His last few years with Houston they thought so, he played more at DH than in LF (and Houston's band box doesn't leave much room to cover in LF). He did look bad defensively with them in the games I watched. I am not saying Kemp isn't worse though, Kemp is as bad as pretty much anyone you can name. He should be taken out of games around the 6th too if you have a lead.

BTW, I always expected Tucker to hit better than he did with Houston. I thought the kid could hit, but he disappointed overall in Houston. Hopefully he's going to do better here and this isn't just a hot start. He certainly looks like he's improved since 2016 (he never got a shot last year in Houston).

BTW, can we add Stewart back and DFA Perez instead? I don't like his pitch framing at all. I love the kid's arm but his bat and pitch framing is probably why the Angels DFA'd him. Whatever the case, I suspect he is DFA'd too as soon as Flowers is back. Hopefully Flowers comes back sooner rather than later and doesn't rush back too soon.

Keep him for veteran playoff at bats.

Baltimore may come calling for him soon if their RF and LF options keep stinking it up. I saw their RFer today was hitting .091 and struck out twice going 0-4 and their LFer is hitting .150. Hopefully they get desperate and actually give us a prospect and take on Nick's money left, or most of it with a good prospect in return works too. Then when you call up Acuna soon you have Acuna in RF, Inciarte in CF and Tucker in LF.

Folty seems to like Perez so maybe he'll be his personal catcher till Flowers returns:

Folty and Carlos Perez were Double-A teammates at Corpus Christi (Astros) in 2013, Folty said he had some of his best games with Perez catching

I expect Jackson was called up with Camargo nearing his return only to be DFA'd as soon as that spot is needed.

Tucker has been really impressive so far. SSS and all that, but unless he hits a wall I'm starting to get curious if it isn't Neck that becomes the 4th OF once Ronnie comes up

From the fun with small sample sizes dept:

MLB Runs Scored before today’s game

#1 - ATL (41)

#2 - HOU (38)

We are also #2 in run differential. Amazing

Update: We are now tied with Houston with a +21 run differential after 6 games. We are currently averaging 8 runs a game so far. Regressing to the mean is gonna be a real #$%^&

Then, let's not regress all the way to the mean.
Let's get Gohara in here to help with the pitching.
Let's move Julio to the pen. - Or at least skip his start on Sunday in Coors.
Let's get Acuna up here.
Let's get Suzuki back behind the plate.
Let's get Tyler back.
Let's get Carmargo back.

Folty had a lot of pitches, but let’s remember (and If I remember correctly)....he’s the only pitcher this year to get out of the 1st inning without giving up a run.

This is weird. I feel like Perez was really struggling to handle Folty's stuff and anything that was on the corners wasn't getting called for a strike because of Perez's poor framing skills.

I expect Jackson was called up with Camargo nearing his return only to be DFA'd as soon as that spot is needed.

They said today on the broadcast that the Braves haven't set a return timeline for Camargo and they want to see him play a couple of full games in the minors before calling him up. I'm sure that Flaherty starting out well helps with the decision not to rush him.
