De La Cruz played in the minors in Fayetteville when he was with the Astros. I have season tickets and in his first season he threw this cat out from the warning track in right field. Threw a frozen rope to the plate.
 
He’s just too scattershot with the split and that stupid slider, and can’t work up in the zone with the heater.

Nice! I've been to a handful of Woodpeckers games... my in-laws live in Lumberton
 
The stuff is there. We don’t even see the curve, and that split is very nice.

Splits down, heaters up…that needs to be the plan. I just don’t understand the thought process with that slider that isn’t good and isn’t thrown in good spots. Like…why bother?
