GDT 4/6/23: Braves vs Padres - Home Opener

It should be noted that Murphy and Hilliard tried to win it with one swing. Rosario and Arcia realized that they needed one run, and there was more than one way to get it.

I know power is valuable and important, and I am not discounting it, but situationally, this was the better choice for this game.

If one of those guys had homered, I would obviously see it differently.

Rosario pulled a ball at his eyes…

also that swinging hard doesn't mean trying to hit the ball out. usually when a hitter swings hard at a changeup, they are fooled and trying to get to what they think is a fastball.

What a game last night! That's vintage Braves at home. Gotta love it. BTW has there been a weirder dude on the mound than that reliever Hill for SD? He was doing a karate kick on every pitch.

he looked like he ran a few rails in the BP and was tweeking a bit more than he was used to.

I honestly don’t know how to feel when the Braves start off a season playing well. Shouldn’t they be like 2-5 right now?

I'm not been anywhere near as frustrated about the state of the Braves as I normally am this time of the season and it's weird. #IDontKnowWhatToDoWithMyHands

Michael Harris to the IL with a lower back strain, Eli White is up. Guessing we see a Hilliard/White platoon in center, but we'll see.

Timing of the Harris injury especially sucks since we're about to face seven straight RHPs.
