Strider averaged 99.2 on the FA last night with 9.4" of rise. That is the makings of an elite BP arm.

His slider is supposed to be pretty good and he only throws an occasional changeup. If he can get the changeup working better he could really be a successful starter.

Like you said - A guy like Strider should be given 20-30 starts MINIMUM before they decide to put him in the pen.

Here's a refresher Fangraphs interview with him from last year that I enjoyed. This is the one where he mentions he already has a good changeup but the organization wanted him to focus on the other stuff. So I will be interested to see if he starts incorporating the change more into his arsenal again.
