GDT: 4/8/'15 - Atlanta Braves (Shelby) @ Miami Marlins (Koehler), Fredi showing off.

Koehler actually has a reverse platoon split where RHers hit him better than LHers by about 100 points of OPS. CJ has done pretty well against him in 16 ABs, while Callaspo has never faced him.

The correct player to be penciled in at 3B is CJ, and it is clear Fredi has exactly zero knowledge of the existence of such statistics. It is a very small advantage, but it IS an advantage a competent manager would give his ball club.

Maybe AJ is Miller's personal catcher, or maybe it's time to give CB a rest. Maybe it makes sense to get Gomes some ABs against a guy that isn't too tough on RHed hitters, especially when the alternative is KJ. Those are defensible moves, but benching CJ tonight is indefensible.

Callaspo has been doing some nice things so far. I'm fine with him being the lineup. I'm ok with never seeing Chris Johnson again.

Means little to me as long as he isn't hated on this team.

But his past more than likely will repeat itself.

Exactly. Not worth the risk (when rebuilding chemistry in the clubhouse), especially considering how well Buck played.

Callaspo is hitting .500 so far and has great contact skills to go along with being a big upgrade defensively at third from CJ. Though the latter isn't saying much since a lot of players would be an upgrade to CJ at third. Still, Callaspo is pretty good defender at third while being pretty terrible at second.

May not be able to post in the GDT tonight. I expect that there's enough veteran leadership to grind out a win anyway. Since Kohler is going for the Marlins, I imagine some extra piss will be in order, and maybe not quite as much vinegar.

I've got you covered tonight. We'll be going with our Sunday lineup too.

Before I get jumped on. I don't know anything about these players we got.

What is Jace Peterson supposed to do for the team?
