GDT 4/9/23: Braves vs Padres - An Easter Treat

I really only have faith in Minter/Riggy/Anderson at this point. I know other guys had good years, but most are junk ballers who won't come in and just blow a hitter away. they have to rely on movement to get you out, can be effective, but costly when said movement doesn't happen like you want.

If Anderson stays healthy, I think the back-end of the bullpen will be just fine, especially when Iglesias is set to go. Jimenez and Minter are solid. I still keep expecting Lee to fall off a cliff, but he hasn't. It might be quibbling, but I think the bridge guys are the weakness right now. Maybe things come around, but the more Chavez, Luetge, Yates, and Tonkin have to pitch could be a problem.

Snitker learned at the knee of Bobby Cox and Bobby loved patterns. The game was different then and with Glavine, Smoltz, Maddux, etc., starting pitchers were going 7 and Cox could let things unfold from there. This is a different era and with the third-time-through framework starting to dominate bullpen use, every team has to have bullpen guys ready to go in the 6th and Snitker seems to use trial-and-error when deploying his bridge guys. I'm not anti-Snitker, but bullpen usage is where he really has to improve.
