GDT 4/9/25: Braves vs Phillies - Murphy Moves Up

AA has failed his last 2 tests - deadline last year and offseason this year. If he fails deadline this year, probably time to start thinking of moving on to someone else.
Right last year at the deadline he should’ve unloaded instead of standing Pat

I wasn't saying go buy an OF.. He will be back this year actually and require a spot to play... and you might not have to worry about the playoffs at that point.

But to actually go out at the deadline and handle a situation that was a clear need at the beginning of the offseason is dumber than actually not addressing the situation in the offseason.

I could see a starter maybe getting added if the playoffs are viable. Losing Lopez was not known (was highly likely) this winter.

I know AA knew the pen was an issue.. he tried and got scared I guess and couldn't close any deals. btw Hoffman would look good right now.
So you're saying since he didn't address something in the offseason that he shouldn't at the deadline??? If we are in it at the deadline he should be fired if he DOESN'T go after bullpen help and possibly another starter.

of course it's still a SSS, but...

Lee and iggy have sucked according to FIP. Bummer and Johnson have been good. It's probably time to call Robertson up

If I am running a race and I lose one of my legs before the race and decided not to replace the leg, wouldn't I look even more dumb If half way through the race I decided that I really needed that extra leg and had to pay almost double to get said leg when everyone watching knew I needed another leg before the race.... I think to get a leg up, you need to make sure you have all your legs before running a race. that is all I am saying.

I wonder what (if any) restrictions inning wise strider will have this season. If it's a really low number, would the Braves be better served to use him as a closer that has the ability to go 2 innings easily?

that brings into question, if going 2 innings over several days is harder on the arm than going 6-7 innings every 5 to 6 days.

You trying to say our closer has sucked ass in two games so far ?

That's a great play. Perhaps they should trade both Spencers to reload. This team is done, and there's nothing on the farm. Just start over
