GDT #44: 5/20/14 Brewers (Gallardo 2-2) @ Braves (Teheran 2-3), 7:10

You know, for some reason as a kid, I always associated Terrell Wade with Pedro Borbon (junior).

...and probably just cuz they were both black starting pitchers.

One was fat, from lower SC, and a SP. One was a second-gen mlb player of Dominican descent, and a RP. Otherwise they were exactly alike.

Great job by Teheran again. Great game, I would let Varvaro start the 9th given the big lead (same as last night).

Haha!

Good to know my memory as a 10-year old is so spot-on.

Gotta say though, since following in '96, Teheran might be the the best Young Gun I've seen come up with a nod to a young Kevin Millwood (as well as the Wood de Alex).

...undoubtedly Wainwright woulda been #1 in that regard, but...water under the bridge n all that.

Braves BP is quite, looks like Teheran will attempt to go all the way.

That would be stupid, no reason to push him this early in the season. He is already at 109 pitches. I wasn't sure about pushing him last inning, but no way would I push him further.

If it wasn't for the shutout I think Fredi pulls him... since it is for a shutout he goes back. If any trouble then he's pulled.

Teheran may get the complete game but I don't agree with pushing him further here. This is the type of move that could come back to bite us later on.
