GDT 5/10 Braves @ Marlins

Folty took a step in the right direction but lol at the fact people evaluating wildness on balls and strikes. So much more to pitching

I guess the rumors of him sitting at 91 were not true

If they were he must've been working on something as he was hitting 94-95 mph according to reports the game before that one. So why would he drop off like that for the next game without injury?

Out of all the main 4 SPs, Folty throws the 2nd most strikes. This notion that he’s excessively wild is pure ignorance.

You probably shouldn't throw around the word ignorance so lightly, we're just having a civil discussion about our favourite baseball team, right? No need to start throwing insults around if someone disagrees w/ your opinion. RE: Folty's ability to throw strikes - command and control are not the same thing. Folty, to his credit, has improved tremendously w/ getting the ball into the strike zone. He is a pretty good picther because of that improvement w/ his control, and he does deserve some credit for that improvement. I very seriously doubt he ever really masters the ability to command the strike zone itself though, eg - spot that FB to different quadrants consistently. Admittedly, I did question Smoltz in the exact same way midway through 1991 though, right before he went on that 2nd half tear... so, who knows? we shall see!

Lecturing enscheff on message board etiquette is about as useful as trying to teach Fredi Gonzalez how to manage a bullpen.

I watched the last few innings of his last start in AAA when he got shelled... the lack of velo was definitely not overstated, at least for those couple of innings. He looked nothing like the pitcher he was end of last season in MLB
