The Phillies are a good team, and I still think they have a good chance of making the playoffs. But they‘re not special. The Braves, right now, are special. Because they‘re also beating other great teams. Convincingly. I still don’t quite understand how we‘re doing it with some of the players we run out there, but it‘s been amazing to watch.
 
This game is exactly how I want Fuentes to be used. 2-3 innings twice a week. Hopefully end the year around 100 IP plus playoff innings. I am envisioning a playoff pen with Fuentes, Holmes, and the big 3. Next year Fuentes can start the year in the pen to keep his innings down. If he gets 100-110 IP this year then he could rampnitnup to 150 next year.

They have three good hitters. They have a good rotation and a good closer with a suspect bullpen. Their defense is horrendous.

I just don’t believe they’re very good.

Even the rotation is a bit of a stretch to say "good."Only Sanchez and Wheeler are good. And with Wheeler his metrics suggests his stuff is worse and he's getting a bit lucky, so he could see a bit of regression if his stuff doesn't get back to where it was . Luzardo has the ability to be TOR, but he seems to get rattled easily. His results have always underperformed his advanced metrics. Nola sucks and is basically a 5th start at best. Painter has potential, but he's pretty awful right now.

I mean, i wouldnt say they're one of the top 2-3 in the NL but they're good enough to maybe sneak a WC. But lot of ball left to be played obviously. Even as good as they've played lately, they've gained like no ground.

I think the 3 starters are good enough to pretend to be a good team.. but yes they have a ton of warts and winning all these 1 run games against mid teams is not a great sign for future success...

plus Dumb Mattingly is twit level stupid
 
also, I think I am on the boat of not putting DF in the rotation personally. he can get the experience working in shorter burst like this while still soaking up the knowledge from thr other starters and coaches..

His fastball is grading as a plus pitch right now
