You‘re not the best team in baseball because you sweep the Marlins.
The Braves are continuing a concerning trend from last season: the inability to beat good teams, especially on the road. Even the great run last year was built on beating up on weak to average teams. They did not win a big series on the road in the 2nd half of the season, despite the great record. And that trend is continuing this year. And it has the same look as last year: an inability to get hits in key situations, a lot of low IQ at bats, and bullpen meltdowns. Also missing a lot of very hittable pitches.
Yes, they did beat the Os, and also beat some teams that are good on paper (cardinals, Mets, Padres on the road). But the fact remains that of those opponents, only the Orioles are over .500 at this point.
As far as winning the division or making the playoffs, I‘m not concerned. They are too good for that. But at some point, they have to prove that they can take series from very good teams, or else it‘s going to be another first round exit.
I love small sample sizes - of course we can go from “best in baseball” to “can’t beat the rocket city trash pandas” in one week.
BUT - these games are frustrating when we do things that are avoidable and those things cost us games. Like not taking on a count when a walk means the go ahead run, or letting Ozzie switch hit, or letting AJ minter wear a Braves uniform…..

Bullpen has definitely been shaky recently. Which scares me about tomorrow....have they announced a starter? Or are we going full blown bullpen game again? These guys are going to be gassed.

Hell, Kenley’s won / loss record ALL of Last year - was 5-2. Two losses by a dude who wasn’t good. ALL SEASON. Yes - he blew a ton of saves - but they weren’t LOSSES.
2. TWO. And he SUCKS.
If I were AA, I wouldn’t send minter down.
I’d DFA his ass. Right now. I’d rather a position player pitch than minter.
When he comes in a game we have an incredible chance of LOSING the game.
His ERA ? In twenty appearances… is over EIGHT— 8.05. Eight point oh five. You can’t make this crap up.
He is actually negatively producing worse than LH Ozzie, Riley with a runner on first, and Cy’s Mom when she - well, bad example, but you get the point, all COMBINED.
