Competitive balance? This practice would actually hurts teams more in the long term. One pick vs an extra year of a really good player on the cheap?

Wouldn’t that make the whole thing extra stupid then?

And yeah if the pick is high I’d rather a shot at another really good player for years than one more cheap(er) year of an already good one.

I thought the point was to reward teams for having the ROY. If the system is solely in place to stop teams from holding guys back then that’s an awful solution.
