Yeah... still striking out way too much... but he's hitting and finding holes much better. Needs to really try and cut down on the K's though or his skillset won't transition very well.

Looking at the Toronto bench, it looks like they could give us a run for worst in baseball.
And teams see what happens when you walk freeman.
I hope whoever our next manager is has a basic understanding of sabermetrics. Trying to play 21st century baseball with a 20th century mindset is killing us.

If Freeman comes close to duplicating his stats from last year Coppy should try to extend his contract for another 3 years. That would make him a Brave through age 34. 3 years between 75 to 90 mil. Would be a good deal for both sides.

If I were Freeman, I'd be really pissed the Braves extended me and a bunch of others only to tear it all to the ground the next year and give me 5 losing seasons.
But that's just me
Freeman will retire as a Brave.
What happens? Nobody is going to pitch to a top 5 hitter in baseball in that situation regardless of who is behind him.

Last week was a substantial sample. This week we need some more data.
Maybe a team tries to attack Freeman with a lefty. It's not asivh of a no brainer if neck is hitting behind him.
I mean if you want to count games in the AL version of Coors then sure as being a sign of our great offense then have it. But yes the Braves BABIP has dropped like most said it would and put the Braves in the bottom 3rd of the NL in scoring and all major offensive categories. The last 2 games may have pushed them up to 9th though.
So should we discount teams in the west then? You either believe in the stats or not.
Freeman is killing lefties. It's an automatic free pass 100% of the time for obvious reasons. The whole idea of protection is that Freeman gets pitched in those situations.
