A GIF is even better!

Does EV improve with age for super young guys like acuna?

EV tends to decrease in the early 20s, stays flat until the early 30s, and then plummets.

High EV guys like Acuna tend to just decline from day 1...a lot like fastball velocity.

The bottom 2 charts are what matter.

I haven’t enjoyed a Braves team this much in years. Freddie, Acuna, Albies, Dansby, Zuk, Neck — they’re all so dang likable!

Interesting link; thanks!

High exit velocity guys do see a decrease in exit velocity from day 1, but the author attributed that to possibly coaching (young guys are swing too hard, and are taught to slow it down a bit). On the other hand, when you look at hits that are in the particular sweet spot of launch angle and exit velocity, those increase with an elite hitter through their mid-twenties.

Did not see that happening. Like I said before the season, I thought the Braves were going to be in the playoff race, but didn't expect it to unfold like this...so far.

Well, guess you can't quote twitter stuff...

This team has a swagger.

Last night marked the #Braves fifth win this season in their final at bat of the game,

and their 42nd since Brian Snitker took over as manager two years ago

(most in the NL over that span)
