GDT 5/2- The Return of the Mighty Nuke; No Carmargo....

Thing is, the Braves pitches per plate appearance isn't that much different from recent years, because of the free swingers. Even now, with younger talent, it's excitable young players that are aggressive but can also take a walk.

Had to swing there as otherwise you're letting up too much doubt to the ump, who's called that area tonight a lot.

deGrom got ball three on Acuna called strike two, if not for that it was a 3-1 count and maybe different AB.

Maybe Camargo should've gave Albies a day off vs deGrom as he still has no hits vs him. Time will tell.

Since being moved to the lead off spot, Albies has K'd 4 times, including 2 tonight. 29 times for season, but he's still behind Swanson who leads the Braves with 32.

Newcomb just suddenly has times, seemingly from AB to AB, where he just misses wildly for no reason. It seems mechanical since it happens a lot.

Is degrom hurt? The Braves might be about to catch a major break.

Is deGrom hurt? They were talking like he might be. That wide strike zone is helping both pitchers so far. Maybe Newk most of all.
