GDT 5/20/26: Braves @ Marlins - Fish for Sale

I don't think Buxton is going to cost as much as people think. He has no trade protection and the constant injuries drive his price down too.

As it currently stands, it is looking somewhat likely that Ryan, Peralta, Skubal, Mize, Gray, and Alcantara should be available. Other less likely names that could be available are Taj Bradley, Max Meyer, Logan Webb, Bailey Ober, Kyle Bradish, Jake deGrom, and Nathan Eovaldi.

If we want another TOR type of pitcher, we have the ammunition to get him.

deGrom is the dream. Not just because he's an great pitcher, but also because Mets fans would lose their minds.

The braves have the worst medical staff in sports except for maybe the grizzlies and saints. They've butchered jiminez's knee like 10 times. Tigers got skubal throwing 2 days after a surgery, and SS#2 and Waldrep will be lucky to ever pitch again with this medical staff

I don't think the Braves medical staff performs any of these procedures.

Waldrep getting moved to the 60-day IL is strictly procedural. It doesn't mean he's going to miss any more time.

It's fair to question what's different now and a few months ago when SS had his operation. Skubal's was the first one performed on a pitcher I believe. Was that option available for SS #2? Was it for the same thing? SS's version may be more of a sure thing. Skubal's was somewhat experimental but I feel like he had a bigger payoff if he can proove he's healthy before the end of the year so it was worth the risk.
