If the Braves can tack on a few more runs I wouldn’t mind seeing Lopez pulled after 6. I know he has a good pitch count but these are the games that are perfect for controlling innings for the starters.

Normally, I’d agree with you - but with another game later today, I’d like to save our pen as much as possible just in case we get in some crazy 14 inning marathon or something

yeah, I wouldn't do it with a 4 run lead either.. was hoping to take on 2-3 more then let one of the scrubs pitch the rest of the way.

although, putting a guy on an inning limit seems weird.. one pitcher could throw 100 pitches in 4 innings while his next start throws 100 pitches in 9 innings.. so are those 5 extra innings any more taxing really.

A pitcher can throw 15 innings if he is throwing 10 pitches an inning. The ligament in the arm is fine as long as it gets some rest. Its the high pitch count innings that really damage the ligaments.
