GDT 5/23/24: Braves @ Cubs - Williams gets to play

I don't care much about what guys like Arcia/tromp/kelenic/duvall/Short/ williams provide.. but if our core hitters can't stop swinging at pitches in opposite batters box, shoulder high and in the dirt then nothing will change. I still think Acuna is hurt and should be IL'd.. I think Ozzie needs to be at bottom of order... and Harris needs to go on a diet.

You would think Acuna is hurt, but his rate stats are right around career averages. I think I read where his sprint speed is the same. It's really strange indeed.

Digging into standings a bit. Didn't realize that despite us playing less games than the Phillies. We've had more road games.

I think we're gonna end up with a fun race in September. Shame we won't have a shot to sweep them and clinch the division like we did vs. the Mutts.

The Braves' plane still hasn't left Chicago yet, and it won't leave for another 3 hours. Doesn't appear to be any weather issues between the two cities. Plane issues?

Maybe a series win victory dinner in Chicago?

Didnt we just send Kerr down? Isnt there some rule we cant call them back up for a certain amount of days? But theres a loophole for when they are replacing an injured player as opposed to just sending someone down and bringing someone up for non injury reasons. I have to wonder if they are using a phantom injury to manipulate the rules here. Its been reported the Braves want to limit his innings early in the season so he will be fresh late in the year so maybe they planned to give him a break and called him up so they could use putting him on the DL to effectively send Kerr down while he would be unavailable to pitch after his long outting and then back up after he is rested.
