GDT 5/25 Braves vs. the Reigning NL Champs

Ozuna turning it around makes this a whole different team. Now all we’ll possibly need is another legit bullpen arm and possibly starter unless Fried (played catch today) and Wright come back strong. And with Shuster not looking too shabby and Soroka and AJSS holding down AAA we may not need to much come the deadline.

LF is an underrated need imo but you cant be perfect everywhere.

Hold up, did someone say we don't need pitching because we got Soroka. Maybe we can count on Mike Hampton to come out of retirement too.

Thread starter beginner's luck?

When they called up Ronald Acuna and he went on a tear was it beginner’s luck?

When Rollie Fingers got his very first K was it beginner’s luck?

Bob Horner’s first fat guy straight out of high school homerun beginner’s luck?

SAV’s very first date with Cy’s Mom?

HELL NO.
You clearly have a gift. And a profound responsibility to hone it, and to use it as a mighty weapon for justice and peace throughout all the land.
Mets fans have been waiting with dread. Our elite GDT platoon just got much stronger.

What? I never heard about this.

bowman tweeted about it before the start of his hot streak.

when snit was benching him even against lefties that’s when the rumors were Braves were just waiting for the service time to kick in so he could get the retirement pension.

bowman tweeted either he or a reporter asked snit about his struggles and if Ozuna would get more chances. Snit said Marcel told him he wanted to go home and quit baseball during the slump. Snit told him he’s gotta go out there and keep fighting. And then his hot streak started in Miami.

I do think we might have enough arms to get by in the rotation but need to see how we are there once the deadline is coming up. I dont totally agree we do. Bullpen is a big concern though. AA needs to add there come deadline time.

I was looking at Riley’s statcast data and noticed that his average exit velo and hard hit percentage is similar to past years, but his barrel percentage is significantly lower. What is the explanation for that. It seems like those would correlate.

I'll believe it if you'll believe it. LOL

I think some of it is that he currently looks like he's at the end of a long slump. He's due for a hot streak to balance things out.

From rotoworld: He's hit .305/.354/.542 in his last 15 games. Re Riley.

A lot of us (me included) look dumb for wanting him gone. Team would be looking a good bit worse without him.

Dont think anyone even Ozuna himself saw him hitting like this as of late. He needs to swap places with Rosario in the order though.

He mentioned in an interview probably a month ago that he feels like himself again and that all of his personal stuff (aka, family drama) is figured out. So, I honestly think he's just mentally in a good space.

I think fans forget players are human. Me included. I wanted Ozuna gone, but we forgot that he had a crap ton of personal issues he was going through. We don't know how bad his wife was before and after the arrest. These things are a distraction that can make a difference is performance most likely. I really hope this is the version or close to the version of Ozuna that we have for the rest of his contract.

Does seem to be having more fun out there, to be sure.
