Boston has a few young players that are great players, but have this stench of disappointment. Benintendi, Devers, E-Rod, Xander, Swihart, etc. Mookie is really the only one of those amazing prospects that really became a star and he was by far the least heralded.

Don’t get me wrong though, I would love to have all of them.

Benintendi on pace for 4+ war in his 2nd year. I wish our prospects would disappoint like that.

Don’t get me wrong though, I would love to have all of them.

Of those players, Benintendi, while he was #1 on some sites before 2017, this is pretty much what you get, I don't think he's a big time bat, I think he's a 20/20 guy with an outstanding OBP. Too early on Devers, and Xander's career has kind of been funny. He seems to switch back and forth from contact and power by year.

Yeah I get that, but he’s basically been a 20/20 guy with average defense in the corner. Like I said, I really like him (and all the players I mentioned). If Acuna settled into that type of player, we would all feel disappointed despite that being a very good player.
