You can't fire him though. The mistake was extending him in the offseason. Shoulda gave him some made up position in the FO, and then assembled a more analytical staff.

Contreras is learning on the job - I’m ok with that. He should have never been in that situation in the first place. He should have been - you know- catching 96 mph heat up in the zone from Martin.

Contreras needs to be better on defense for sure but he’s not the reason we can’t get above .500 and he’s really been thrown in the fire while holding his own. We don’t really have any other options behind the plate either until TDA returns.
