GDT 5-31: MR. CHARLIE TOLD ME SO

Olsons career FB rate is 43%. For some reason it’s at 32% in 2020, which accounts for the missing ~5 additional bombs he would normally have right now. Everything else is right in line with his career norms.

Yeah. Olson has played pretty poor defense so far (for him anyways). He's also slow and Washington has gotten him thrown out at home a few times which brings his numbers down some as well. In the end I'm mainly looking at offense from my 1B unless you are an extreme butcher on defense like David Ortiz for example.

A large part of that is due to bad 3 game stretch with baserunning (Reds series) and bad 3 game stretch fielding (3 consecutive errors). Both are aberrations.

Freddie has been better this year, but going forward the gap is negligible.

FF has been much better in xwoba. Olson seems to be rounding into form though
 
Maybe I’m crazy, but I swear I’ve never seen such bad luck coming off of our bats combined with such freakish good luck for opposing bats.
Not to mentioned the seemingly nightly dumb baserunning decisions and uncharacteristic boneheaded plays on defense……

I have the incredible sense that this stuff will regress to the norm and the Braves will win about 18 games in a row…
