GDT 5-31: MR. CHARLIE TOLD ME SO

When the braves are sitting at home this postseason, I'll clutch my Olson-is-almost-as-good-as-FF tee shirt and take solace in that.

Last year was the pinnacle of my baseball fandom - state and braves champions. Both teams were/are an absolute train wreck this season. The flags fly forever deal sorta rings hollow to me this year... I wanna be competitive every year. State started top 10, and the braves should in no way be this bad. Spit!

Olson is going to be out there setting records. What's Freeman gonna do? Choke in the playoffs with the rest of the Dodgers.

I'd rather us choke in the playoffs. I don't wanna be the angels chasing individual accomplishments.

Fangraphs has FF considerably better in offensive and defensive value

Now Olson is hardly the problem. Duvall/ozuna is the biggest issue now... ozuna can't play D, and duvall can't hit a lick. And our "night shift" can't close games out

Angels havent done anything in 2 decades. Olson is about to be in the Braves and MLB record books.
 
The "record season" pace is sorta lame when his slugging is way below his last 2 full seasons. I'd rather no records with the slugging in the .540s
 
I know the dbacks are ahead of us in the WC, but I wonder if they'd consider trading peralta. He's a FA after this season.
 
you guys need to stop blaming this player or that player.. it is a team wide fail. you are up 4 runs going into bottom of 6th.. find a way to win it. I understand losing these games occasionally, but it has been way too many **** losses this year already. Starters suck, pen suck, black holes up and down the lineup, no bench, idiot manager. It sucks because we have a collection of good/great players.. just seems to be nothing is clicking at the right time to get this team going.
 
Olson is 5th in the NL among 1b in fWAR, and he's also 5th if you look at fangraphs off value. He's certainly good, but this isn't some historic season

I agree that duvall sucks
 
Hopefully Jansen, Morton and Swanson can return something of value for us at the deadline.
