When did SS start popping 97-99.

He hit 97 regularly last year. He has hit 99 several times this year before today. His FB is super hittable but with that velocity it can work as a surprise pitch when hitters are looking for offspeed pitches.

Despite the recent struggles of the team this bodes so well for us long term this season. We just need to get in the playoffs. Being a lower seed isnt a big deal. Might even work to our advantage.

You’re both correct- he has been hitting high velo already- but yesterday he was 99 a lot and threw two that clocked 100. Prolly a hot gun, or he has rounded into top form now. Either way, and despite the usual pearl clutching from some, he’s just damn good!

Dude has only been pitching a couple of years, so like AJSS I’m expecting him to need his first TJS sooner rather than later.

It sucks, but this is where we are. Good thing AA planned for injuries in the rotation.

For real. As much as I like to see SS throwing 99-100 cutters and 4S. I would rather have him at96-97 versus waldrep for a year and a half while we wait for SS to get back.

It’s pretty bleak, with literally no signs of turning
