GDT 5-4: Braves-Mariners; Welcome back, Sean Murphy

Unless we make a trade, I don't imagine we'll DFA bummer this week and leave us with 1 lefty in the pen. There are also no available options currently in AAA that are any better. Martin is technically an option, but we still seem keen on letting him start or do long relief, which is fine by me. However, once is Dodd is healthy Bummer has to be DFA'd.

Iggy back today, Dodd back in the next week or so. They'll be fine. But they absolutely need to add another good relief arm before the Deadline.

Also, that's 29 walks from the staff over the last five games. Lmao that's obscene.

Lmao imagine simping for Sean Murphy....oh excuse me....he's in the middle of his awful extension so he's just gonna be a good hitter now...
Thinking Eli White is a better option to hit than Murphy says all we need to know about your opinions.

Probably more than one good relief arm.

Also, it needs to be pointed out that by PH’ing for Murphy who was catching, WW sacrificed the DH for a potential extra innings. Just complete fuckery all the way around.

If they are going to keep flipping the 2 Cs between DH they should have kept Heim. A 3rd C is more useful that whatever Farmer and Dom are providing right now.

Last night was frustrating. Ritchie's stuff took a major step back from that ST game when he impressed me so much.

I agree that Dom is useless in his current role since we refuse to put Harris on the shelf.

The correct move is to IL Harris if he can't play the field. You can't continue to carry 2 players on the roster who can't play the field.

The good news here: we are set up to stop this losing streak before it even starts. Our ace is going tonight, and we have the key pen pieces rested. AND lost in this mess is that our Helen Keller 3B is starting to hit…..

The people excusing Walt for his bullpen management last night are ridiculous. He could’ve done anything with a 4 run lead in the 6th. The only thing he could not do was leave a struggling rookie out there to get shelled. But that’s what he chose.

The issue isn't having arms - Iggy, Suarez, Kinley, Lee, Fuentes, Lopez and Dodd is a legitimately great bullpen.

It's that they haven't pushed either Lopez or Fuentes in back-to-back days. I'm guessing it's because they've been working as starters. But we're actively shooting ourselves in the foot by doing that - essentially limiting high-leverage bullpen depth when we have a cluster of games and are down Iggy and Dodd (as of today).

Bowman said we won't use Fuentes and Lopez in back-to-back nights yet, and Perez is being saved in case he starts. Yikes.

Even worse... we went with Lee, Saurez, Fuentes and Lopez all in a blowout game 3 against the Rockies. Save one of those arms and pull Ritchie smartly last night and we don't lose that game. Cluster fucks all around.

I love Fuentes, but if we're not gonna use him as a regular reliever, he needs to be in AAA. You can't have 3 pitchers in your BP that are long relievers that you refuse to throw in back to back nights.

I can't believe I'm typing this but....

This is the first egregiously bad SP decision Walt has made this year that I can remember. Snit would have already made 10 moves this bad or worse, so at least it's much better than it used to be.
