GDT 5-5: Braves-Mariners; Left Fielder Michael Harris II

Honestly if your making moves for the playoffs at the deadline. LFer and a #2 starter is what we are looking at. The backend of the Braves pen is as good as it gets. There is enough filler down there that can get you through the season.

I want another couple reliable relievers. When you're in the playoffs you're lucky if your starter gives you 4 innings. I don't want to have to rely on waiver wire guys or minor league filler to bridge our starters to the back end of the pen.

About the only way we've been losing games is having one of our group of non-MLB quality relievers absolutely melt down. Payamps, Wrong Suarez, Bummer, Kinley, etc. If we had another two quality arms in the pen we'd probably have 4-5 more wins.
Did you just put Kinley in the group of non-MLB quality relievers?

Don’t lump Kinley in there… dude has been nails outside of like 1 game

In the playoffs you only need probably 3 great starters. Your other two starters. Are relegated to the pen..

But I agree, I wouldn't mind one more. Quality bullpen arm. Or just unleash Fuentes. Fully.

my hope is that Shwelly comes back and is stong end of the season. Then you have Sale and Schwelly top 2. Then you have a mix of Strider (if the ships rights a little), Holmes and Lopez that you can mix and match as the 3rd guy a few inning a piece.

It's just not a priority compared to a LFer or #2 starter

Top needs are for sure a SP, and a LF'er. But that's also gonna depend if Strider can get back on track and if Schwelly comes back into form. Would lessen the need a tad but if AA wants to go all in, i'm down.

I think the pen gets solved when we get some starters back. Holmes and Lopez lengthen the pen and give Weiss quality options to go multiple innings.

We need another LHP in the pen so Lee isn’t spaghetti by August which is solveable
