GDT 5-8: Braves-Dodgers Game 1

Welp. I hate that damn song.
Get ‘em tomorrow- Strider as a #4 level is way better than Snell is gonna be, and then it’s bullpen city- we have all of our good ones ready. Let’s roll.

Have to come clean on something here. I thought the signing of Mike Yastrzemski was not bad. In fact, I liked it. Thought he could be an asset. Well, I was wrong. He has looked most of the time overmatched. Once Kim gets back, Dubon needs to take over in LF and see if he can carry tha full time or if a trade for that position needs to happen at the deadline. So Yaz, thanks for making me look like a doofus.

I liked the Yaz signing. He looked like a very good strong side platoon OFer… but this year he can’t hit anyone.

Grichuk couldn’t be any worse could he? Welp… hoping Yaz is just about to hit one of his heaters

We should be used to Olson doing nothing...

Last 10 vs dodgers: 6/33 (.182), 1 hr

FF last 10 vs Braves: 12/35 (.343), 3 hr

I'm just dumbfounded that a team who has led baseball 95% of the year in hitting with RISP just suddenly forgets how to do so against the Dodgers. 10 men left on base is abhorrent, especially against the low men on their roster.

Yaz, specifically, refusing to be a competent major-leaguer is killing us. He just needs to be benched so we can win a few games and get out of this self-imposed rut. They were outplayed in Game 3 against the Mariners, but every single loss otherwise has been because of shit like last night. Just stupid baseball. It should have easily been tied going into extras, if not a one-run lead.

How am I just now learning that LA gets to carry 14 pitchers bc of Ontani?
That’s more of an MLB problem. Technically any of the 26 guys on a roster can stand on the mound and throw the ball at any time. It’s not the Dodgers’ fault Ohtani is good at it.

Teams should be able to set their 26-man however they want. All those years Snit never utilized the bench, we could have used an extra reliever.
