Question... Is it just me or has it seemed that avilan has been pretty horrid this year?

Again I fail to see what the hell Avilan did wrong tonight, the Sox got lucky hit after lucky hit after lucky hit. Let's not want to find something to bitch about so much that we don't even pay attention to the game.

Avilan couldn't help Ortiz and Pedroia's hits, but he grooved that pitch to Bradley that effectively ended it. Like I said, a couple bounces go against us, and we fold.

The game was lost though when our offense failed to put it away yet again. Could see the Boston rally coming from a mile away.

avilan had allowed 1 run this month. along with 5 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings

in april, he had one 5 run outing and a 1 run outing. thats it.

These two nights have just been a combination of things finally evening out for Boston and our inconsistency/lack of situational awareness. We could very well go dominate the next two in Boston,

Right now Chris Johnson is splitting the difference between 2002-2003 Vinny Castilla.

Vinny couldn't quite crack the franchise record for most GIDP (he managed 22 both years, the record is 24), but Chris, with 10 already, is well on his way.

Not really. He hasn't been himself from last year, but he hasn't been awful. He's had ONE bad outing that killed his ERA, besides that, he's given up four runs. That's good for an ERA under 3.

Agreed. We need more cap tipping, and less Fredi bashing. And maybe some more, "it's ok, we are still in first, and Boston sucks. We'll get 'em tonight!" And you know, maybe some good old cap tipping.

actually for me anyway they seem to make the bad games worse. Makes it feel like we lose multiple games at once because people harp on the negatives, then argue about them.
