GDT: 6/03/2018 vs Nats

And I like the idea of Sanchez in the Socolovich role, once Soroka’s back.

Another couple of starts like this and Sanchez might actually be flippable. But the role you propose is probably more valuable to the braves than the prospect they would get in return

Sanchez is a crafty veteran, so he could prove a dependable long-man if we replace him in the rotation. I would think long term that fits him better at this point of his career, as he can sometimes dominate two or three innings and then have issues. But then again last year he was usually really bad straight away in games he didn't have it. Still, in a long man role you can limit that damage by just removing him if you're still in the game or let him take it on the chin no worries if a blow out loss you're resting the pen.

it is always sad to see an era end...but the era of flipping veterans for prospects at the deadline is over...no more Uribe for Gant and Whalen...makes me sad

To be clear, I like both players, and I def think Albies has the higher offensive ceiling by a fair amount. But for all the slings & arrows Swanson gets, he’s only 0.051 points below Albies in OPS after today, alongside a much larger positive contribution with the glove.

Dansby gets propped up by a lot of walks he gets bc he hits eighth

Albies has to walk more long term. Ender too.

Can still make trades like that around the edges whilst being competitive, but in this case I think the supposition is correct that Sanchez is more useful to the Braves as a longman than whatever he’d net, prospect-wise, in a trade.

Trippy image. Who’s hugging whom??

I think this is a dangerous approach. Of you have options (biddle/fried/allard/wisler) in that role later in the year you should still always try to improve the future depth. I just don't think we would get anything valuable for sanchez unless he has a true renaissance the next 5 starts

Uh oh...things falling apart in philly?

Phillies schedule this month.

at Cubs for 3, home with Mil for 3, home with Col for 3, at Mil for 3, home with Cards for 3, at Nats for 3, home with Yankees for 3, home with Nats for 3.

If they get outta that slate still in the playoffs or in contention, good luck, that is brutal.

In those 24 games their goal should probably be to break even 12-12. Anything more would be gravy. But them going 8-16 in that stretch is very possible. That is brutal.

Phillies are a good team but they need to keep these player complaints in house or else things can unravel. I question Snit long term but he has control of the clubhouse and that has been accomplished sole because of the respect he has earned from the players..young and old

We’re about even with last year at a bit under 31000 a game. I don’t have the breakdown by month though. I think this last home stand would have been really good but was hurt by threatening weather especially on Memorial Day and Friday.

Ours in July isnt much easier, but thats certainly no walk in the park.

Have to remember the Braves and all of baseball gets a bump in attendance when school is out. Those summer months in contention might have us at 33-35K per night regularly.
