GDT 6/10/19: Running it back vs the Pirates

I'm not in on Bumgarner in any way. He's going to cost more on name than he'll end up being worth. But Gausman committed the cardinal (not St. Louis type) sin (at least to me) tonight after being staked to a four-run lead. Not all innings are equal and after you've had a big inning, the thing you want to do is have your pitcher just go out and dial it up a notch. Now, there was an error and Starling Marte isn't a chump, but you just can't give back runs like that.

Just read this about Bumgarner on MLB.com

“From what industry sources are telling me, Giants president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi already has had a dialogue with some contenders, including the New York Yankees, and he made it clear the Giants will not treat Bumgarner as a yard-sale item that must be cleared off the driveway before moving day,” Baggarly writes. “The Giants will get the value they are seeking or they won’t move him.”

Just bad luck

What sample size is more representative?

12 innings?

Or the hundreds before those?

It doesn’t matter at this point though. When I’m proven right yet again you and your fellow derptards will have moved on to the next moronic idea. When I remind you that you guys were wrong yet again you’ll just brush it off and keep derping along.

So now Bumgarner is Verlander.

Keep me updated lol

I'd compare it more to Hamels/Cubs, better?

Hamels looked washed, and was great for CHC down the stretch. But i dont see AA paying the price SF will want for him.

Let's use the bigger sample then... how do you justify saying Gausman is better than bumgarner?

No looking back. Only move forward.

Wonder how many pitches Newk can go tonight. Do you burn him for a few days and let him go several more innings or do you toss a bunch a guys out there and have Newk in game 3?

Even if Gausman is having bad luck, there's nothing that says he and Bumgarner are close as pitchers.

I dont see AA paying the price for Bumgarner anyway unless they'd take guys like Allard, Sobotka, Duvall and Ender.

It has been detailed here many times the last few weeks.

If you don’t get it by now we will just have to wait for the conclusion of the latest episode of “who ends up being right”. We all know how those episodes usually end around here.
