I thought Snit was bad about it but the Pirates are forever leaving their starters in too long

their pen is worn down...makes sense for Hurdle to stick with his starter little longer than usual

I think I'm more on the side of "Folty isn't that good of a pitcher.

I mean, it's not like he's that young. He'll be 28 in October (for perspective, Julio is 28).

This is his 5th season with the Braves. His fWAR in those seasons:

2015 - 0
2016 - 1.4
2017 - 1.6
2018 - 3.8
2019 - -0.5

I think it's more likely last year was the outlier, and his true talent level is closer to a 1.5-2 win pitcher.

I still think he's a 3-4 win pitcher when right—but that qualifier is exactly why, even though I'm a fan, I thought calls to extent him made no sense. Who knows if he'll be right enough again during his arbitration years to reach that potential.
