GDT 6/11: pirates @ braves

I never understood the ire for Melky but as a Brave he didn't show much of the hitter he later became.

He just didn’t care. I remember a game we played in Cincy and he picked a ball up in the rcf gap and literally threw it from rcf toward the lf line, if I’m remembering correctly. He was the definition of a hot mess that season.

I think the reason was that he was obviously out of shape the year he was with us and was noticeably worse than he was before we traded for him despite the fact he should have been in his prime. Then after he left he improved greatly and then failed a drug test. All of that adds up to him being really popular.

He didn’t want to leave the Yankees and pouted through his year in Atlanta. But I didn’t like him even before then.

I don’t know why they don’t call it. It’s official, been in a delay for 90 mins and the radar shows it’s going to continue to rain for the next few hours. Also Jackson likely can’t close since he warmed up 90 mins ago and that wouldn’t be ideal. Just call the game.
