GDT 6/15/22: Braves @ Gnats - Contreras Behind the Dish

The bullpen has basically just had two days off in a row, they have an off day tomorrow. Yet he's trying to destroy Strider's arm and also has Chavez coming in in a two run game. Dude is brain dead.

Last 3 starters for strider...
87 pitches
93 pitches
106 pitches

Probably a few too many, but they've worked em up to it

Immediately walks Bell on five pitches. Some sick strategery.

Left in too long, still strikes out Nelson Cruz on his last pitch. He does indeed look legit. Excited to see him develop that change more. I know he’s very cerebral, so he’s working on his development despite his great raw stuff.

We won’t get to see him develop if Snitker keeps letting him throw 110 pitches a game.

Snitker is too damn strict with "inning roles" in the modern era of baseball. It's so tiring seeing this talent being managed by such a dinosaur.

That run shouldn’t be charged to the vacating pitcher of the replacement pitcher walks the first hitter to put him scoring position.

1-run lead now, need to add another run or so. Not sure if 3 sticks.

If it's any consolation, AA will make the decisions in the playoffs like last year. I assume we have enough talent to get us there despite snit

Chávez is a useful pitcher for this team (especially because his arrival also meant addition-by-substraction of Newcomb). But that was not his moment of optimal utility.

Keep forgetting about the DH lol, yeah no idea why Minter wasnt in when he hasnt pitched in 2 days.
