Ozuna would have had to be in it but that's a ton of money to be on the hook for. If it's true we were interested then money isn't an issue.
 
speaking of nacho, in a small sample, he's hit well since coming back. Perhaps it's time to get him up in and play a couple times a week at 2b.
 
The Red Sox apparently asked for Ozuna, Murphy and two pitching prospects. AA let the Red Sox know the Braves were no longer interested, and the deal with the Giants happened shortly after.

Just because I was curious, his average EV is 85.6mph out of 6 balls put into play. Not that it matters in such a small sample size, I was just curious.
 
If AA offered anything of remote value for Devers without them eating a large portion of the contract, he should be fired immediately. You mean to tell me that you are ok shelling out 245 million for an out of shape, primary DH into his late 30s, but somehow you wouldn't give Freeman 6/160?

AA is panicked and trying to do anything because he knows his time is short partly because of the FF debacle.

The deal didn't go down for a reason... I'm sure this is why. The Braves likely asked the Red Sox to take on Murphy's salary and also eat some of Devers' salary, while getting legit talent back.

Murphy has POSITIVE trade value currently. We could ship him off and his entire contract and get legitimate prospects in return. There is no reason to attach him in whatever hypothetical Devers trade. Not to mention, the Red Sox already have a pretty terrific rookie catcher that is pushing Jack Wilson for ROY.
 
Part of the discussion could mean anything from on the verge of a deal to they called AA to see if there was any interest.

Every reporter has an agenda, I don’t have a lot of trust for what they say beyond reporting what actually happened after the fact.

Even that is often suspect.
