DRS seems to routinely flag guys as having all time great or terrible seasons.

UZR was recently revamped, and the result was that those outlier seasons largely went away.

I definitely prefer UZR and fWAR for hitters. For pitchers I just go with xwOBA, make a distinction between SPs and BP arms (since BP arms go full bore), and assume every pitcher is probably going to get hurt so his counting stats matter very little.

I much prefer bWAR for position players. Only because I find DRS slightly less useless as UZR.

The first site to incorporate stat cast into their WAR projections wins the glory.

With statcast and OOA we can get a pretty good look at an outfielders defense. For Harper, UZR is definitely the outlier this season.

I also read earlier that they’re considering a Smith–Conforto–McNeil outfield alignment. I hope they trot that out by tomorrow and the Braves hit a lot of balls to the outfield.
