GDT: 6/22 Orioles @ Braves

what happened is Winkler was already warmed up while the game was tied...i can't blame Snit for going with Winkler

That’s true. Who would have thought Winkler would have been hit like that. I would have brought in Viz at some point, but you know Snitker thought Winkler would right the ship.

I do. You use your damn closer in the situation. It’s literally what they’re for and what they mentally prepare for.

disagree...its a long season and a manager needs to be careful how often he has relievers warm up without using them...Snit has done well in this department and the pen will benefit from it down the stretch

I don't want to. I think he can be useful. The problem is snit thinks he's Andrew miller. I'd rather DFA snit and keep freeman

Brought in last lefty to face lefties after his best righty reliever got lit up by righties.

Questioning his bullpen management here basically boils down to ...but you didn’t bring in the “closer” who most folks have been killing all season.

Part of that 9th was terrible luck. There was an AWFUL call down the third base line and so many balls finding holes. The other part was a mix of Winkler having a bad night and the utter worthlessness of Freeman.

Not one of us would have thought they could score even one run on Winkler.

Snit’s fault is not in sending Winkler in, but not going to Viz as soon as Winkler looked shaky.

Fine, I can deal with that logic, except you still need to use your closer for the role he’s designed to fill.
