For those of you wondering why Biddle only went one inning and why Winkler and Carle were given the night off.

For tonight's game Biddle, Minter and Freeman will not be used except maybe to get one hitter. So essentially no lefties in the pen.

So you're saying we need the offense to be really good?
 
People working over time to blame the manager for having bad options available to him in pen and on bench.

The bunt sounds like it was stupid but the rest of the moves sound like someone playing the hand they were dealt.
 
I think what we have seen in the past week is the need to build a pen and bench that can better withstand the stress of extra inning games and guys having to play bigger roles when injuries occur.

Pick up a couple guys like Avilan/Claudio and Solarte/Asdrubal Cabrera and we will be in much better shape to handle those kinds of things.

The pen does need more depth. Getting Acuna back will help with bench dept a bit. I do like the idea of replacing RF though.
 
I think we need two things, if we aren't going big - a lefty infield bench bat and a lefty reliever who can get lefties out.
 
Bullpen is a much bigger concern than the bench. Outside of Carle, Viz, Minter, Winkler, there isnt much you can trust, although i'd like to see Biddle used more than he has been. But need at least 2 arms since the team wont give Phillips a chance.

Culberson, Suzuki/Flowers (whichever isnt catching), Santana is an ok bench, need another piece there though.
