GDT 6-28-14 (Game 1 of DH): Braves (Santana) at Philadelphia (R. Hernandez)

I know Jason is making productive outs. But a hit would be nice sometimes too.

Jason is easily one of the best defensive OF in baseball and is valuable because of that. But we're getting to a point that he's looking like a massive bust offensively.

I would be ecstatic with 6 innings with thr lead from Santana. I hope Fredi nails this down with Simmons/Kimbrel and doesn't try and save them for game 2. For all we know we might not even get a lead to hold in that game

Yes I know he's an amazing outfielder. We have two studs at premium spots defensively and neither can hit a lick.

I tell you what is concerning for me right now about Tommy LaStella is he's not even balls hard and he's not taking the same approach. Early on he was really working counts trying to get pitches to hit and he's simply not doing that now. I know they're not ready to give up on him, but if he continues to struggle between now and the All-Star break, you wonder if 2nd base is a position they will try to address at the trade deadline.

It was unrealistic to expect him to be the next Griffey, but he has to do more, plain and simple.

I agree to an extent, the Braves too much luck with offensive prospects since The Jones boys and McCann outside of Freeman. Jason's gonna turn around see he's had a nice career, but a 40 homer game changer? Don't see it. His mark is more defensive than offensive.

Why do their terrible players tend to beat us? That first series it was Ryan Howard + all their absolute AAA scrubs that beat us. Last night, Revere was 3-4. Today Gywnn Jr. had a triple and a single. Revere with a double today. Koyie Hill has 2 hits.
