GDT 6-28-14 (Game 1 of DH): Braves (Santana) at Philadelphia (R. Hernandez)

Was hoping Santana could get the third out but, after that double, a base hit ties it.

With our anemic offense, we don't need for the Phillies to tie or take the lead...keeping my fingers crossed.

Sigh again. I laughed at never amount to much. He is not a great offensive player, but he is a asset to the team. To think otherwise is well, delusional. Focus man

Which I acknowledged. I'll rephrase. He is never going to realize his offensive potential until he learns to stop pulling outside pitches to second and first base again and again and again.

Like most hitters, Jason is at his best when he's hitting the ball with authority to the opposite field. However, he's only done that for very brief stints in his career. He'll scuffle for a long period then pull a bomb 450 feet which causes him to fall in love with his power stroke but results in three more weeks of rolling over pitches to the right side of the infield. I realize it's stating the obvious but he needs to be fined every time he hits a ground ball to second.

Bases loaded, one out, we gotta get a run here which means CJ has to make contact, or more specifically, he has to not flail at pitches on his shoe tops.
