I'm not sure how many times I'll have to explain why certain performances are unsustainable. Folks fooled by Fried's ace level results early in the year set themselves up to be let down as his numbers regressed because they refused to understand why his results were unsustainable. It happens on this board 3-4 times per year, without fail, every time someone has an early hot streak.

A third pitch ain't going to do any good for Fried unless he puts it on the same tunnel as the fastball/curve. I don't think it is and teams figured it out and started spitting on the slider, effectively making him a 2 pitch pitcher again and thus, a number three or four starter.

I am worried. His stuff didn’t grade out well as I hoped it would, and he didn’t appear to have the control to make up for it.

He needs to improve, and the results in AAA don’t suggest he is.
