GDT 6/7: Save Us, San Francisco

Everybody raved about em at the time and Riley and Olson are still top 5 at their positions. I still think Strider comes back fine once he's had a normal offseason. Murphy is top 5 at C also. Harris is the only one but he was coming off winning rookie of the year so there was no reason to think his bat wouldn't keep progressing.
Murphy is awful….he can’t hit worth a shit and the base expansion has rendered him more obsolete….That contract needs to be moved and quick.

Several teams would line up for Murphy especially at 3/45 with an option.

A year after winning the WS? The majority of teams would have done the same thing.
He was extended again after 2023 i believe. One year with an option. This is the last year (option year) and he's free to go end of year unless we fire him or he steps down.

I don't think he gets fired being with the organization as long as he has. The best thing he could do is just step down to save face and help the team going forward. No way at his age I'd keep going through this.

Then that must absolutely be explored this off season or at the deadline.
Having Baldwin definitely makes it easier to let him go. I'm curious about the DH spot going forward. I hate having a bat only guy that you can't put in the field bc it's hard to take Ozuna out of the lineup to let other guys rotate there like Acuna sometimes.

I mean he probably won't get fired, but he probably will be encouraged to step down due to the stress of the season.

They can always play the PR game with Snit. Snit has been a loyal soldier to the org for half a century, if they asked him to fall on the sword one last time with a nice payout he'll probably do it.

He went from being a stopgap interim after Fredi, to them keeping him for another 8 years. I think Snit can look at that as the org repaying his minor league loyalty for so long allowing him to be the big league skipper for as long as he has. And he's won a WS. But the dude just ain't got no fire.

I was at the game today. What a horrible way to end things. I mentioned to my friend “I don’t like this matchup” moments before the homer.

In a year where Acuna and Strider was coming back from big surgeries and we are resetting the tax a top 10 pick wouldn't be the end of the world.

99 games to go. I really wanna believe, but I just can't see anything to believe in. Anyone see any reason to step off the ledge?

It can't get any worse. It can only go up from here. Right now the team has 0 confidence. Once they find it they'll go on a winning streak. Not sure how much of one though.
